When Matt, an airline pilot, and his partner Jenny decided to upgrade their poolside shed, they envisioned a versatile space that could serve multiple needs. Their 10' x 24' shed now functions as both a sleek office for Matt and a practical storage area, all while maintaining a cohesive and stylish design. Design Goals: Dual-Purpose Functionality

The goal was to create a functional workspace for Matt while also utilizing part of the shed for storage. Here’s how we achieved this:

1. Office Space:

• Climate Control: Matt’s office features a mini-split air conditioning unit, providing efficient cooling and heating to keep the space comfortable year-round.

• Interior Finishes: The office side is finished with smooth drywall, creating a clean and professional environment. The exposed ceiling joists were stained, adding a touch of elegance to the space. The floor is covered with Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring, offering both durability and a modern look.

2. Storage Area:

• Functional Design: The shed is divided with a partition wall, creating a separate area for storing bicycles, pool equipment, and gardening tools.

• Flooring and Insulation: The storage side features a concrete stain floor, which is easy to clean and durable. The area is insulated with fiberglass batt insulation, ensuring it remains stable in various temperatures and reducing noise between the two sections.

3. Overall Aesthetic and Practicality:

• Custom Touches: Both sides of the shed feature design elements that complement each other, from the stained ceiling joists to the choice of flooring. These details contribute to a cohesive look while maintaining the functionality required for different uses.
